PRESIDENT OF IABC IRELAND

LAOISE O'MURCHU
Laoise is a highly experienced communications professional who has won numerous professional awards, notably the Gold Quill for Communication Excellence, the 'Oscars' of the communication world, the European and Middle Eastern Emerald business communication award and the Public Relations Institute of Ireland’s Excellence Award. Laoise holds a PhD in organisational communication and her research has been published and presented at numerous international conferences. Laoise is always happy to speak with anyone interested in learning more about IABC.

MARYKATE COLLINS
Marykate, who hails from the Horse and Jockey in Co. Tipperary, completed her undergraduate degree in Trinity College, achieving a 2.1 in French and Italian (Honours Moderatorship).  She has had a diverse international education having lived and studied in both France and Italy and obtained a Bi-lingual diploma in the International Baccalaureate, which she studied in St. Andrew’s College, Booterstown, Co. Dublin.
She chose to major in French in her final year and achieved a First class honours in both  ‘Extreme Rights and Fascism’ and in her academic dissertation on the French Resistance.
Currently studying for an MA in Public Affairs and Political Communication in DIT, Marykate has developed a keen interest in the following areas: Public Affairs, Public Relations, Online Communications and Crisis Management. Her thesis will focus on the role the Irish diaspora can play in rebuilding prosperity here in Ireland and will look closely at the possibility and feasibility of developing a mutually beneficial National Diaspora Strategy. 



KEITH HOARE 
Keith holds a high 2.1 Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics, Politics and Law from Dublin City University. He achieved a first class honours in the areas of Middle Eastern and North African politics, Irish politics, American politics, political leadership, European politics and gender and politics.
Currently studying for an MA in Public Affairs and Political Communication in DIT, Keith has developed a strong interest in public affairs, internal and crisis communication, media relations, corporate reputation, digital and social media as well as campaign management. His MA thesis will critically analyse the history and role of the Special Adviser in Irish Politics.
Keith spent 3 months working in the European Parliament in Brussels, where, as a trainee to Mairead McGuinness MEP, he gained an insightful knowledge of the EU’s political system. Through his internship with Senator Maurice Cummins, the Leader of the Irish Senate, Keith has also acquired an indepth understanding of the Irish political system and particular,ly the legislative process.
He also has a strong record in the media industry having been a winner of the 2010 National Student Media Award for best radio production of the year in the news and current affairs category.
   


MAXIME SATTONNAY
Maxime holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Management from Toulouse Business School / ESEC Barcelona.
Living and studying in France, England, Spain and Martinique, provided him with a strong multicultural background and gave him proficiency in French, Spanish and English.
Currently finishing a MA in Public Affairs and Political Communication at Dublin Institute of Technology, Maxime's theses will focus on how to manage the communication of Politicians' family and inner circle.
As part of a yearlong internship, working for a TD (Irish Deputy), Maxime was in charge of monitoring and reporting on innovative policies developed in the leading countries of the European Union, concerning jobs, enterprises and innovation.
Because of his knowledge in Online Marketing and his experience as community manager, Maxime's duties, as part of the IABC Ireland team, are to Manage the LinkedIn group as well as the Blog and create promotional material such as videos.




CATHERINE LOWE
Catherine holds an undergraduate degree in Corporate Law from The National University of Ireland, Galway. During her time in NUIG, Catherine was the auditor of the Rotaract Society as well as Director of the NUIG Fashion Society, organising the biggest events each year on campus. Catherine is also a member of Young Fine Gael and canvassed for Brian Walsh in the 2011 General Elections. Catherine has an interest in politics and all things PR related and would like to pursue a career in communications. While pursuing a masters degree in public affairs and political communications, Catherine has worked as a parliamentary assistant in Seanad Eireann for Senator Tony Mulcahy. During this time she has worked on press releases, social media research, correspondence with constituency members and various other forms of research. Along with the invaluable experience she has gained from interning in the Irish Parliament, Catherine interned in the communications department of Red Bull and Saatchi and Saatchi London.
